First Trip to the Dentist

Lauryl has been looking forward to this day for weeks. We were originally supposed to go the week of her birthday, but illness required us to cancel. Kendyl came home last week with prizes from the treasure closet and that was all it took to get her out the door this morning with a smile!

We picked out a "big girl" outfit- plaid like Kendyl's uniform and with knee socks to boot;-) Here she is enjoying the chalkboard before getting called to the exam room.

I expected Lauryl to do fairly well and was almost positive she'd request my presence in the chair with her. Once we got situated though she did absolutely everything that she was told to and didn't even wiggle an inch. Here she is beaming right before the exam started:

My biggest concern was what she would think about the suction straw. Turns out she thought it was great! She giggled every time she had to close her mouth around it. Dentist offices are so much more high tech then when I was a kid and we drank from a cup and spit in the little chair-side sink.
