Riding out the storm

A storm rolled through our neighborhood fast and furious this evening.  As usual, the protective daddy instinct took over and we were all banished to the basement for the duration.  Within seconds we were without power.  The girls had flashlights and blankets though, so all was well.  We all enjoyed using daddy's new netbook to play wheel of fortune and got a good laugh out of Lauryl confusing her weather terminology and warning us of the impending "volcano" instead of the tornado she was actually fearing.

It was fun to spend the evening holed up as a family with no guilt about not acomplishing anything around the house!
