Puppy Love

Anyone have a dog they want to lend out to a poor neglected child who's parents won't let her get one???

Our next door neighbors are watching our previous nanny's dogs for the weekend. In addition to getting a much needed Karen fix, Kendyl has latched onto her dogs like you wouldn't believe. The first words out of her mouth each morning have been "can I go out and see the dogs?" She has parked a lawn chair near where they are tied up and just goes out and sits between them. She would move in with the neighbors until the dogs leave if we would let her! We (Rob and I) actually got in trouble for planning too much this weekend and cutting into her time with them!

Min came over tonight to take pics at my request. I know there's gonna be one sad little girl when those doggies leave. I figure at least this way we can print a few out and put them on her bulletin board or load them in her digital frame. Here's a few good ones. Can you see the love and adoration in her eyes??

I have to admit that they ARE beautiful, but I still don't want one!

It won't be a weekend that Kendyl will forget anytime soon.

Feeding Geese

What better way to enjoy the warmer weather than feeding the geese! We took our friend Mindi with us for our maiden geese feeding outing. I don't think Mindi realized when she signed up that I would perch her and the kids on a picnic table surrounded by hissing geese!

After we ran out of bread and the geese thinned out, we decided to go play on the playground and swings.

It was the perfect way to spend our evening and we were glad to have Mindi along to join in on the fun!

Locker Soccer Playgroup

Our playgroup organizer (amazing Tressi) had the great idea of holding this week's gathering at an indoor soccer facility called Locker Soccer. The place opens it doors for two hours every Monday so that kids can run around and work on their soccer skills and burn some energy. Our kids rotated between playing soccer, doing gymnastics, playing Duck Duck Goose, and getting their mommies to chase and tickle them!

Hands on Toddler Fun

As I've mentioned many times before, I love doing things with Lauryl that Kendyl got to do with me when she was the ONLY child. I think it is really important to give Lauryl the same special attention and experiences even though she has a big sister. The Westerville Rec offers an array of awesome and affordable toddler activities AND having a built in classmate in our friends Caroline and Nathan seals the deal!

Our latest class undertaking is called Hands on Toddler Fun. Essentially it is an arts and crafts class for our mini picassos and we get to leave the mess and the planning to the rec center. We have gotten to play with paint, glue sticks, stickers, MOON SAND, and lots of other fun stuff. Lauryl is all smiles and bounds from station to station trying everything out.

This week I took my camera to capture some of the fun. The teacher set up a shaving cream table so the kids could spread it around and practice drawing and just plain enjoy getting messy. Here are a few pics. You be the judge and decide if you think they liked it;-)

Two is such a fun age (especially when she's smiling and having fun instead of throwing a tantrum)!!!!

Our Trip to Coco Key

Rob decided that we were in need of a mini family getaway and booked us a night at Coco Key near Granville, OH. Coco Key is an indoor water park with tons of water slides and water activities. The website boasted of all the kid friendly attractions and Rob had a friend who had gone recently and LOVED it!

Here we are on the night we arrived...just checking things out from the cabana

The girls were excited to debut their new bathing suits and eager to get going. Kendyl started out pretty brave and immediately conquered one of the kiddie slides without prodding.

Lauryl was less brave and was terrified of the huge bucket that loomed over the attractions and would dump massive quantities in tidal wave fashion every so often. She spent much time with her ears covered, head buried in mommy and daddy. Rob did get her to loosen up a little and play with him in one of the pools without overhead or shooting water!

While Kendyl did pretty well, she is still a little timid in the water despite my best efforts. She enjoyed the lazy river attraction and a couple other slides, but there was quite a bit that she just was not ready to attempt yet. Overall it was a nice escape and fun to hang out with the fam in a new place.

In all honesty I think the girls' favorite part was staying at a hotel for the second time and sharing a bed! Too cute:-)

We'll have to try again in a couple years when the girls are a little more adventurous in the water.

Princess Playtime

Our friends Heather and Makenna came over to hang out for our bi-yearly get together. Even though they now live in Ohio we just really have a tough time trying to get plans in place. The girls had a blast hanging out together. The bounce house was not the success I expected, but the girls had their own agenda and soon had a great dress up party going in Kendyl's room. It was SUPER cute to watch them all interacting.

We really should hang out together more! Maybe someday...
