Why is it that we take for granted everything that matters most to us? Why do we assume that the people we love will be here forever and that death comes in a particular order and always makes sense? Why do we live our lives in a way that sets us up to feel regret when the unthinkable happens? Lastly, why does a life changing event change our ways for only a short time and then we fall back into old habits?
Today was a sad day. I lost my uncle in a semi accident. No one expected it, no one could have predicted it, and it hurts like h*l&. I'm lucky that I saw him on the 4th of July and that it was a great visit. We ate pizza from Massey's b/c that's ALL he ever wanted when he came to town, and face it I grew up in a family of pizza junkies and I am one! We laughed, we joked, he played with my kids, and I got to watch him and my dad and his son interact.

I'm gonna miss him terribly and I'm especially sad for my cousin Casey and my aunt Judy to have him taken from their lives so suddenly. This is also especially tough for my dad b/c he works for the same trucking company and is on the road every single night too and he and John were constantly in touch via cell to help pass the time together.
