It was a hectic holiday season in the Burns' household as always! So much to squeeze in and so little time to do it all!
We started the season out right we the annual construction of the Gingerbread House.

Next came
Kendyl's first Christmas Program. The boy on her left is Andrew--her kindergarten crush;-)

Then
Kendyl's Christmas party at school! The kids loved freeze dancing to Christmas music and I captured shots of
Kendyl and her two amazing teachers.
Kendyl absolutely loves kindergarten and Mrs.
Townley and Mrs. McKay are definitely part of the reason for that joy of learning. She's especially loving the Christian aspects and can be regularly heard singing Happy Birthday to Jesus and an assortment of other cherished songs from weekly Chapel!

Most exciting of all for
Kendyl was her first ever sleepover at
Mindi's! They had
Kendyl's dinner of choice (pizza), baked and decorated cookies, and then finished the evening with the opening of her first gift- a Santa Buddies DVD and 5 stuffed buddies to cuddle! This was some desperately needed special attention just for
Kendyl and it really did make her feel
sooo special!
Here are her buddies lined up sled style with Rudolph leading the pack;-)

During
Kendyl's sleepover at
Mindi's Rob and I decided to have a special date night with
Lauryl. Seeing as
Lauryl is our good eater (a little more adventurous than
Kendyl) we decided it might be a treat to take her to a Japanese Steakhouse. Well, let's just say that the ball of fire from the onion volcano was not a hit with our skittish munchkin at all. She BEGGED to leave and would not calm down. We got the food to go and brought it home. We were right that she would love the food, just wrong to think that the experience of the flipping knives and flames would be well received! We rescued the night with movie time (G-Force) and a super late bedtime. She is
sooo funny one-on-one. It's always a treat to get special time with them individually.
We never did make it to Wildlights, but the kids haven't mentioned missing it. We had our annual get together with the Moore kids and made individual pizzas, did crafts, and decorated cookies and they definitely enjoyed that.
All in all a successful lead in to the big day and the time celebrating with family. Family posts will follow:-)

Hey, we're headed to the Zoo for the last night of Wildlights tonight, if you want to join us. Just bundle up. Sounds like you all had a wonderful and fun filled holiday with the girls. That's wonderful :)
